Class move
Decks not desks
Wednesday, June 6, 2007 - 23:00
This is one class no one will be ducking out of early. School music lessons will take a turn for the better with students encouraged to bring in their favourite tracks to mix on computers.
The 'Make Me A DJ' sessions will use the new 'DJs' software developed by Pioneer and provides students with virtual decks and mixers modelled on Pioneer's hardware.
Other features include beat synchronisation, waveform displays, effects, cue points and auto-mixing.
The programme - introduced across schools in the UK last month - is geared for students aged between 12 and 16, and shows that schools now recognise DJing as a viable career choice.
