Sterling, sterling work here from Manchester's Alex Coulton, channeling the four-to-the-floor bass sounds of Bristol for Hypercolour's HypeLTD vinyl-only offshoot. This generous four-tracker is all killer; 'Dance, Max' boasts a nagging, percussive synth groove, while 'Submerged', as one might expect, is all depth, dank atmospherics and dark delay. On the flip, 'Function' is sparse, stripped down to the utter basics, stuttering synths and a monstrous loop doing all the work. 'Fade Realization' breaks the 4x4 with some deep dubbiness. Lovely.
