Coachella will reportedly be postponed until October 2020 due to coronavirus concerns.

Organisers of the California festival are working to delay both weekends of the double-header event until later this year as a result of major public health worries relating to the spread of the illness, according to reports by Rolling Stone and Pitchfork

This year's dates are currently set for 10-12th April and 17-19th April. Reports suggest artists are being contacted for availability on the weekends of 9-11th October and 16th-18th October. At the time of writing, no official announcement has been made by AEG or Goldenvoice, the company's behind the mammoth gathering.

If the postponement goes ahead Coachella will be the latest in a growing list of major tickets to either be pulled or re-scheduled as a result of the coronavirus. Miami Winter Music Conference, SXSW, Tomorrowland Winter and Beat Hotel Morocco have all now decided not to go ahead with events as originally planned. Ultra Abu Dhabi was cancelled earlier this month, while the flagship Ultra Miami will also no longer take place this month, with ticketholders told refunds will not be available and instead given options including the exchange of passes for either 2021 or 2022.
