Conducta has shared a UKG remix of Brixton artist Yiigaa’s new single, ‘Closer’.
The collaboration came together after the recent DJ Mag cover star tweeted that the original version was one his favourite tracks of the year, and asked for the stems so he could put his own spin on it.
Speaking about the remix, Conducta said: "As soon as I heard closer I could hear exactly how I wanted to flip it. I felt it needed an r&b treatment/2 step vibe to illustrate how good the original vocal was as her voice is perfect for dance music!"
Yiigaa grew up in Brixton listening to a wide range of sounds, from reggae and punk to a range of styles from throughout Africa and Latin America. Later, she fell in love with house, UKG and soulful electronics. Her new EP, ‘Inner Dawn’, is coming soon and, according to its press release “marks a personal reawakening where she discovered who she truly wants to be as an artist - one who makes feel good electronic music that exists to bring people together and who strives to celebrate her heritage through her music and aesthetic.”
