LISTEN TO DRO CAREY’S NEW SINGLE ‘GROW LITHE’
The Sydney producer drops a spacey number from his forthcoming EP
After a string of top-notch EPs, Sydney producer Eugene Ward, better known as Dro Carey, had a relatively quiet 2015.
When DJ Mag spoke to Carey earlier this year, he told us that he’s been busy putting the finishing touches to a new EP — the first under his Dro Carey alias since 2014’s ‘Club Injury Handbook’.
We’re excited to be able to premiere a track, 'Grow Lithe', from the forthcoming project, which will see release on Aussie imprint Soothsayer. ‘Grow Lithe’ feels like one of Ward’s most multifaceted productions to date. There are a lot of elements at play: from the echoey xylophone-like melodies, to the polyrhythmic hand percussion, and the razor-sharp acid synths — all of which combine to evoke a spacey, uncanny atmosphere.
