DJ Bone is the next artist to feature in our DJ Mag Originals series, Crate Diggin’.

In the series, in which we take some of the world’s biggest DJs record shopping, we take a deep dive into the artist’s individual music tastes, through both contemporary and historical releases.

In the latest episode of Crate Diggin’, Detroit techno mainstay DJ Bone goes record shopping at SeaWolf Records in Amsterdam: a second-hand vinyl store, hidden on the outskirts of central Amsterdam, stocked mainly from private collections. 

A newly discovered Frankie Knuckles track is set for release.

Taken from reel-to-reel tape from some of the late house pioneer's early studio sessions in the 1980s, 'I Want The Love Of My Own' was discovered in the vaults of Chicago label DJ International. Previously unheard and unreleased, the single has been restored from tape since being recorded over 30 years ago, and mixed by Knuckles’ collaborator Eric Kupper.

Chicago house legend Paul Johnson is in an intensive care unit (ICU) after becoming infected with Covid-19. 

A short film on the music genre and dance style footwork is being projected onto Chicago's Merchandise Mart, a huge Art Deco building home to shops, offices and showrooms, through to early September.

The projections are taking place as part of the city's Year Of Chicago Music project, which sees the Department Of Cultural And Special Events link up with Art On TheMart, a public art initiative. Three films are being projected onto the building for the project, and the first of those is 'Footnotes', an animation on footwork.
