Printworks announces line-ups for New Year's parties with Defected and Glitterbox
London's Printworks is linking up with Defected and Glitterbox for its New Year's Eve and New Year's Day parties this year.
On 31st December, it's the turn of Defected to take over the venue, with DJ EZ making his debut at an event from the label, joined by the likes of Danny Howard, Riva Starr, Sam Divine, Melé and Monki, among others. Find the full event listing for that party, which will run from 7pm-4am, here.
Floorplan announce new two-track EP on Classic Music Company
Floorplan have announced a new two-track EP on Classic Music Company, marking the duo's second outing on Luke Solomon's celebrated label.
The two-track release, 'Get My Mansion Ready / Out Of Control’, will land on 5th November, with soulful, gospel-infused house on the A-side and a rave-y, techno outing on the flip.
Premiere: Robert Hood ‘The Struggle’
Robert and Lyric Hood will release a new split EP on M-Plant on 14th August.
With one track from Floorplan (Robert and daughter Lyric together) and one solo cut from Robert, the EP finds the pair utilising typically rousing techno and house forms to propel the voices of Black civil rights activists, Tamika Mallory and Dick Gregory.
Tale Of Us, Floorplan, Josey Rebelle, more locked for Field Day 2020
Field Day returns to the capital on Saturday 11th July, to its new north London home The Drumsheds.
After taking place over two days in 2019, for 2020 Field Day will be one day only, running from 3pm through to 3am at Meridian Water, next to the Tottenham Marshes.
A live show from Bicep has already been announced to head up the bill, and today Field Day reveal that Floating Points, Ross From Friends, Overmono and Special Request will all play live shows alongside the Belfast duo.

ON ELKKA’s new EP, there’s a slow-burning house track based on a sample of Laurie Anderson, the New York performance artist who had a surprise hit with ‘O Superman’. Everyone wants to know exactly what kind of artist I am, Anderson sighs, as ‘Avant Garde’ builds to a climax: “Who cares?” This is the kind of DGAF attitude — sampled, chopped and placed on a Floorplan-esque pedestal — that sums up where Elkka is at right now.

Incoming via Will Saul's Aus Music, where the Detroit Father-Daughter duo have released various EPs, 'Supernatural' will mark Floorplan's first album in three years, and comprises of two LPs.
Releasing an EP earlier this year with two samplers from the album, 'Fiyaaaa!' and spiralling house anthem 'His Eye Is On The Sparrow', which features Carol Otis, 'Supernatural' will feature 10 tracks across its two sides.

The duo— AKA minimal techno pioneer Robert Hood and his vocalist daughter Lyric— have put out two previous albums, 'Paradise' in 2013 and 'Victorious' three years later. Both define their sound, which veers from Hood's bare bones futurism and instead focuses on gospel-influenced, high-energy celebratory cuts.
Amsterdam Dance Event announces second wave of artists for 2019 festival
Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) has revealed more acts joining this year's festival and conference.
ADE takes place from 16th to 20th October 2019 and will run both day and night programs which includes talks, art, film, photography and technology, as well as live music and club nights.
Lyric Hood announces first solo release
Lyric Hood has announced her first solo EP, 'Nineteen/11:11'.
Joining her father Robert Hood as Floorplan in 2016 and subsequently releasing the 'Victorious' album, Lyric also remixed 'Never Grow Old' for the duo's 'Let the Church' EP.
On her solo debut, Lyric produces a house heater in the form of 'Nineteen' and closes the EP with thunderous techno on '11:11'.
Earlier this year Floorplan released EP, 'So Glad/I Feel Him Moving'.
