DJ Mag catches up with Scottish DJ/producer Jackmaster at the International Music Summit in Ibiza, to talk his brand new DJ-Kicks mix, raving at sea and setting up a new studio in his hometown of Glasgow...

Renowned compilation series, DJ Kicks, will see the revered and provocative DJ Seth Troxler command the latest edition of the series.

As ever, he’s been broad in his selection and had this to say about the mix, “I wanted to curate something for people to easily listen to, that was nice, and funny and got you in the mood to do your homework, or drive that hour long trip when you need to go somewhere. I see this mix as a gay man named Rodney. Or a big black woman named Birtha.”

There are some records that define their time so exactly that they become inextricably bound with memories, nostalgia, youth. That transcend whatever stultifying definitions are placed on them to sit in a category of one. Records like 'Dummy', 'Leftism', 'Timeless', 'Smoker's Delight'... and of course, Kruder & Dorfmeister's 'The K+D Sessions'. Released in 1998, ostensibly it's a double-CD collection of their remixes of other artists, with a smattering of their own originals included.
