Polish electronic music community calls for global support following anti-LGBTQ+ violence

GRiZ: Riding the waves
Grant Kwiecinski has found his zen. Better known to fans as the saxophone-slinging GRiZ, the 28-year-old producer, DJ and instrumentalist is one of those precious few artists who practices exactly what he preaches. The face behind the hashtag #showlovespreadlove is warm and welcoming, but underneath his clever quips and mile-long smiles is a real person who’s not afraid to talk about the stuff that keeps him up at night.

DJ Mag Podcast 91: Arnaud Rebotini
The early 1990s were a pivotal time for the influential underground movements of Paris. Culturally, socially and musically, communities grew within the clubs and social spaces of the French capital, unified under the goals of platforming and celebrating marginalised groups, speaking truth to power, and passionately defying the status quo.
Sonically, the story is carried by the music of Arnaud Rebotini, the longstanding French producer, DJ and composer who has played in bands with the likes of Ivan Smagghe and whose reserved acid techno compositions resonated throughout Campillo’s powerful LGBT romantic thriller Eastern Boys (2013).
The soundtrack is comprised largely of original cuts that channel the bright analog house music spirit that filled Parisian clubs of the time. The sounds bring light and energy to scenes in the film depicting the protagonists dancing and sharing moments on vibrant dancefloors, decorated with lush imagery of disco lights, abstract chemical visuals and vivid, personal flashbacks. As Rebotini explains, Campillo intended for the music in the film to be colourful and full of soul, speaking to the spiritual sense of escape that was so vital.
"House music was like a flag for a lot of people, and it was a flag I wanted to make fly again"

TEN WALLS SPEAKS OUT ON CIRCOLOCO CANCELLATION
Ten Walls has released a statement regarding his removal from the upcoming Circoloco party at DC-10, saying he understands the decision and will keep making music nonetheless.
The Lithuanian was announced for the line-up yesterday, but both the brand and club came under heavy fire from both DJs and dance fans due to his appalling homophobic outburst on social media last year. Circoloco later announced Ten Walls would not play the show and apologised for any offense caused.
CIRCOLOCO TAKES RISK BOOKING TEN WALLS FOR DC-10 PARTY
In a controversial move, renowned party brand Circoloco has booked Ten Walls for its DC-10 party this coming Monday (4th July).
The Lithuanian producer - real name Marijus Adomaitis - was all but excommunicated from the music industry last year, being dropped by Coda Music Agency along with multiple major festivals, following a horrific homophobic outburst via his personal Facebook account. In the rant he referred to homosexuals as "another breed" and compared homosexuality to child abuse.
