There's a week-long beach festival in Albania this summer
Kala Festival has shared the full line-up for its 2020 festival.
Returning to Dhërmi, the festival will run from the 10th to the 17th June on the Albanian Riviera, featuring live performances, extended sets and regular DJ sets. Activites and wellness events are also set to take place on the idyllic beaches, with yoga classes, gong baths and beach massages, as well as kayaking, pedalos, and paddleboarding all on offer.
Moodymann's Soul Skate party reveals 2020 dates, plus Berlin edition
Details of next year's Detroit edition of Moodymann's Soul Skate party have been revealed.
The bi-annual skating event will return to Moodymann's hometown over Memorial Day weekend next year, taking place over the course of five days. The lineups and venues for 2020's edition of Soul Skate are yet to be announced.
Moodymann launched Soul Skate in Detroit in 2007 creating a place for skate dancers around the US and beyond to meet up and cut around the roller rink to music soundtracked by a number of DJs, sometimes including himself.
Moodymann, Anastasia Kristensen, Theo Parrish, more added to Oasis Festival line-up
Moodymann, DJ Mag May 2019 cover star Anastasia Kristensen and Theo Parrish have been added to the line-up for Morocco's Oasis Festival.
The event runs 13th-15th September in Marrakech, and has now completed its artist announcements for this instalment. Fresh additions include Cassy b2b Eats Everything, Hercules & Love Affair, DJ Bone, Danah Ruh, Paranoid London and Robag Wruhme.
Moodymann announces expanded digital version of new album, 'Sinner'
Moodymann has announced details of an expanded digital version of his new album, 'Sinner'.
The legendary Detroit DJ, real name Kenny Dixon Jr, will release a seven-track, digital version of the album on 21st June. The original vinyl edition of the album - which was sold on limited edition vinyl at a barbecue during Movement Detroit - included five tracks.
The forthcoming digital version will also including 'Got Me Coming Back Rite Now', which will replace the original's title track.
Moodymann sells new EP at a barbecue in Detroit
Moodymann has released a new double-pack titled Sinner.
The record was available for sale in Detroit over the weekend during Movement Festival. Copies were sold by the DJ and producer for $10 at a barbecue that he hosted in Detroit on Sunday. There were also some copies available for purchase at a few record shops around Detroit.
The opening track, 'I'll Provide', has been posted online and can be heard below. The five-track double-pack, which has been released via Moodymann's own KDJ label, is not yet available to buy online.
Vujaday festival locks Danny Tenaglia, Moodymann, Sasha, more for 2019
Taking place from April 3rd-7th, Barbados festival Vujaday has announced its second wave of artists, with Crosstown Rebels boss Damian Lazarus, German duo andhim and New York-legend Danny Tenaglia all added, alongside Pony from The Fitness & Pony, Papa Lu, Gaby Endo and NYC’s Roger Silver.
They join the likes of Sasha, Bob Moses, Detroit house and techno staple Moodymann, Lee Burridge DJ Tennis, Soul Clap and Octave One, who were announced in the first phase.
Police issue statement over Moodymann arrest at gunpoint
The police have issued a statement over Moodymann's arrest, which shocked the dance music world last week.
The legendary Detroit DJ, real name Kenny Dixon Jr, shared a video of his apparent arrest by gunpoint on his own property via his Instagram, before its removal a few hours later. He was arrested for breaking and entering, despite having keys for the house on his person.

Moodymann was reportedly arrested at gunpoint today (16th January) while on his own property.
The legendary Detroit DJ/producer – real name Kenny Dixon Jr – shared a since-deleted video to his Instagram in which he described a situation where armed police surrounded him in his backyard demanding proof of ownership. Despite his being in possession of his keys for the house, police reportedly charged him with breaking and entering.
An unreleased Moodymann album has sold for over $500 on Discogs
An unreleased Moodymann album has went for over $500 on online vinyl marketplace Discogs.
The website has listed three separate sales of the release in November and December, ranging from $436 and $517.
The untitled new album by the Detroit electronic musician (real name Kenny Dixon Jr.) was primed for release in June via Mahogani Music. An official release date has yet to be confirmed.
Moodymann was recently locked for DGTL Amsterdam 2019.
