Steffi and Virginia have collaborated on a new release.

'Work A Change', incoming on Berghain's in-house Ostgut Ton label, is an eight-track project which sees the two artists collaborate for the first time in eight years.

Signalling a change in creative direction for the duo, the press release cites "unlike the grand maximalism often associated with vocals in dance music, Steffi and Virginia's creations use the voice less as a centerpiece and more an integral part of the groove itself." 

Long time Berghain/Panorama Bar resident Martyn will release on the club's Ostgut Ton label next month. 

The 'Odds Against Us' EP, incoming 26th July, is Martyn's first solo release since 2018's exceptional and atmospheric 'Voids' LP – a deeply personal album that came in at No.7 in our top 50 of the year. 

Norman Nodge has revealed details of his first new solo record since 2011. 

Due next month via Ostgut Ton, the Berghain resident’s four-track EP, titled 'Embodiment', is said to be a reflection of “decades of observing how dancers develop an intuitive relationship to music and process new sounds”.

Nodge has been a resident at Berghain since 2005 having started out as a DJ and promoter with connections to other Berghain residents Marcel Dettmann and Marcel Fengler in the '90s. 

Berghain resident Marcel Dettmann has revealed plans for a new double EP, 'Test-File', landing via Ostgut Ton. The EP is his first formal release in five years.

'Test-File' is the German DJ and producer’s first effort for the label since 2013's 'Dettmann II' LP and, according to the label, sees him exploring more improvisational territory.

Phase Fatale is set to officially debut on Ostgut Ton, Berghain’s in-house record label, with his ‘Reverse Fall’ EP, set for release 13th July.

The new EP, which sees Phase Fatale taking a slightly more techno-centric direction, is inspired by the controversial 1973 novel Crash by J. G. Ballard, which features a main character who fetishizes car crashes.

Ben Klock and Marcel Dettmann will drop a collaborative EP this month in celebration of Berghain-affliated label Ostgut Ton reaching 100 12" releases.

Titled 'Phantom Studies', the milestone record contains seven tracks ranging from "relentlessly pounding" techno to "hypnotic, melodic and soulful music", says the imprint.

Two tracks also include vocals from the producers, with Klock delivering a "spoken-word sermon" on 'Prophet Man' and Dettmann featuring on 'The Room'.

Virginia’s first full-length album on Ostgut Ton, ‘Fierce For The Night’, lands tomorrow (Friday 27th May). You can stream it in full ahead of its release below.

Virginia, who features in the June issue of DJ Mag that is out now, worked on the album with Dutch artists Martyn, Steffi and Dexter, who co-produced it. ‘Only For The Night’ channels elements of funk, boogie, disco, UK garage, drum ‘n bass, and house, to hark back to a time that genre boundaries were less clearly defined than they are today.

Hotflush honcho Scuba has today announced the first London label party of the year at new venue Steelworks Unit 13 on Allhallows Lane. 

The line up with feature fellow label associates Dense & Pika and label manager Jack Haighton, as well as one half of Sandwell District and Ostgut Ton favourite Function.
