The family of late UK DJ Alex T — real name Alex Theodossiadis — has received an apology from Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust as a result of inadequate care. 

A well-known face in the Yorkshire city's electronic music scene, both in club booths and behind the counter at legendary store Tribe Records, in January 2020 Theodossiadis was admitted to Leeds General Infirmary, having already spent a number of days feeling unwell. 

A Kickstarter campaign is raising funds for a new photobook celebrating ‘90s queer clubbing in the North of England.

A new independent radio station based in Leeds, alto radio, has launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for a studio site. 

To date, all shows broadcast on the platform have been recorded remotely, and the aim now is to establish a fixed location in the northern English city for artists and the team to work from. 

Leeds’ Sable Radio has launched their first mentorship and training programme, ReSound, for young Black people looking to enter the world of broadcasting.

Designed to be a full introduction to radio broadcasting, sound engineering and live event production, the ReSound bursary also comes with a £1,000 grant for each participant to develop a unique project. 

Mint Warehouse is set to launch online DJ and production courses.

1000-capacity Mint Warehouse, opened in 2012 by the owners of the Leeds' now-defunct Mint Club, will launch a series of online courses in music production and tuition in March.

Each course will includes 4 hours of classes, in addition to two 90-minute 1-2-1 sessions which can be booked at a time convenient for you. The courses available include an introduction to Ableton and classes for intermediate level users.
