A new lakeside venue is set to open in Berlin.
Based in Wedding, a locality in the central borough of Mitte, Plötze is an open-air venue promising a sandy dance floor, a customised reggae soundsystem, and the opportunity for attendees to take a dip in the nearby Plötzensee lake.

Berlin 300-capacity pilot rave to take place this weekend
A 300-capacity pilot rave is taking place in Berlin this weekend, with a view of collecting more evidence about the impact of music events on COVID-19 transmission and infections. The party is set for Revier Südost on Sunday 13th June.
Ellen Allien will headline the session, which runs from 2PM to 10PM local time. Anyone interested has until 3PM on Thursday 10th June to enter a raffle and names for the dance floor will be selected at random, with tickets allocated for free.
Early house music DJ/producer Elbee Bad has died
New York's Elbee Bad, aka veteran producer Lamont Booker, has passed away.
The "Prince of Dance Music" was reportedly found dead in his bed on Wednesday, June 2nd by rapper and flatmate INFIDELIX. The news comes two months after it was widely, and wrongly, announced that the Berlin-based Booker had passed away, following confusion regarding the apparent retirement of his artist moniker.

The debut collaborative track from the duo was originally released in February. The new, accompanying short film has been directed by Soul Suleiman and Leanne Mark (co-founders of agency MOTHER), and is intended to show the "perspective of a voyeur or someone watching from the edges of the crowd, offering and intimate peak inside a queer and often unnoticed POC community within Berlin".

Berlin to officially declare nightclubs as cultural institutions
Berlin is on track to officially declare its nightclubs as cultural institutions, RA reports.
Having been previously classified as "entertainment venues" alongside brothels, arcades and casinos, the change in legal status will protect certain nightclubs in the German capital from gentrification, and means they will be permitted to open in more parts of the city. They will also benefit from tax breaks.
