Location: NEWCASTLE, UK
Digital first opened its doors upon Newcastle’s Times Square back in 2005 with one of the most powerful speakers in the North: a Funktion-One Dancestack, one of the UK’s very first to be installed. Flown over from Miami by the club owner Aaron Mellor, it set the bar high for UK club soundsystems.
Over the years, Digital has expanded with new ideas and concepts — the latest being the smaller Think Tank room tailored for emerging artists and live acts. They’ve also introduced a brand new Saturday night called Carnival Of Fools, experimenting with theatrical performances and playing with the idea of an immersive clubbing experience. The venue now consists of four rooms altogether, plus a VIP area that overlooks the main club.
Regular headliner bookings that consistently pack the dancefloor include Sven Väth, Peggy Gou, Loco Dice, Eric Prydz, and local hero Patrick Topping. It’s also the home of some of the city’s most treasured club nights including Ape-X and Shindig, also recently debuting the all-inclusive queer party he.she.they with Maya Jane Coles and Honey Dijon. Digital is a true gem of the North.
